Annapolis: Naval Institute Press, 1984.
First edition. First printing. A fine, unread copy - and very uncommon as such. Mild traces of foxing to the outer text block. The faintest toning and rubbing to the jacket, otherwise an outstanding example of the Cold War classic. The basis of the iconic 1990 film, starring Sean Connery as Captain Marko Ramius and Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan. Housed in a custom made slipcase, with a card signed by Clancy laid into the book. Clancy’s first novel, which he sold to the Naval Institute Press for a modest $5,000. He pioneered the techno-thriller genre, and his books would go on to sell over 100 million copies worldwide.
